The two strands of the plot are headed up by Heather, a classically trained dancer who together with four other girls is trying to win the Carmichael Scholarship and Crystal, a striptease artist who has a hidden talent. Eva, Heather's dance coach has brought Michael in to train her girls in preparation for the audition. She explains to Heather that while her dancing is technically right she lacks passion. In an effort to discover 'passion' Heather goes to the Strip Club where Crystal dances and which is owned by Tony.

The Club runs an Amateur Night competition and Heather enters. Unfortunately exotic dancing doesn't come easily to our heroine and she flunks the competition, failing even to remove her clothes. Her visit to the Club is ominous though, as for the first time she crosses paths with Jerry and Mick, a pair of low life, drug dealing scum. Not put off by her failure, Heather returns to the Club and pleads with Crystal to teach her how to strip. Crystal is reluctant at first as she doesn't like Heather but eventually agrees. The two strands of Michael coaching Heather for the Carmichael Award and Crystal teaching her how to strip intertwine to make up the main story line.

Jeff Conaway as 'Zack Allen', as he is perhaps best known.

Michelle Clunie - 'Jonesey'

Slowly Heather becomes involved in the life of the Club, making friends with the girls and the wannabe loser customers. She also starts to form a relationship with Tony who sees something different in her from the other girls he employs. One of the girls that Heather gets to know is Jonesy, a drug addict who is being supplied by Jerry and his thick mate. One night Jonesy's body is discovered by the police. She has overdosed. Another girl, Burn is mixed up with a a rock band. After the band's chance of discovery by two A & R men is ruined, the girls from the Strip Club decide to help the band by making a video demo tape. Crystal, using Heather's video camera, agrees to take charge. Unknown to the others Crystal has an interest in and an aptitude with the camera. The video is a success and as a result the band get their contract.

Notwithstanding their involvement with Jonesy's death Jerry and Mick return to the Club. There Heather makes fun of Jerry and throws her drink over him, in front of everybody. Later as she leaves the Club the two men attack her, intent on rape. First Tony then the Club Bouncer, Chain, rescue her and Jerry gets justice at Chain's very large hands.

As the film comes to a close, Heather attends for her audition for the Carmichael Scolarship. Unknown to her the girls and patrons from the Strip Club attend at the audition to cheer her on. She dances with passion and fire and wins the Scholarship. Tony and Heather finally get it together and that night at the Club she dances her first striptease, for Tony.

Who would have thought he could be a 'bad boy'. Tim, not from this film.

Tim's second film and another small part. This can probably be considered the first of his cinematic baddie roles.

Written by Nick Stone in 1991and directed by Paul G Volk, 'Sunset Strip, had a running time of 95 minutes. The byline was "Where the body heat gets hot, and the competition hotter."
