SIR RUM A LOT

Sir Rum A Lot

Tonito

Recipe:

2 ounces of light rum

2 ounces of Baileys Irish Cream

3 ounces of coconut cream

1 ounce of dark rum

1 ounce of Meyers rum

4 ounces of pineapple juice

Float 151 rum (Bacardi)

1 banana

1 cup of crushed ice

Festive style glass

Note:

Barcardi 151 is powerful stuff - use with caution and sparingly

Why not use a slice of fresh pineapple as a garnish?

American measures.

Method:

In a blender mix all the ingredients together except the 151 until the liquid appears smooth and creamy. Pour the mixture into a glass which contains the crushed ice. Top off with a small amount of 151.

Want it sweeter?

Add more pineapple juice or cut down on the rum

Want it for christmas?

Cut out the 151, use Meyers on top as a float and then add whipped cream

Based on the Pina Colada this tipple was mixed by Tim and friend John Vogel when they both worked in a Jazz bar. It was made for T L Lankford and with his guidance. He even gave the drink it's name.

John said of working with Tim that,

"Working with Tim was like skating on thin ice, you never knew what prank he was going to pull out of his pocket to stir the crowd up! One eye was always on the crowd with the other on Tim."

Tim relived past times when he turned up as a guest on John's television programme "The Mix Masters". He conjured the Sir Rum A Lot with the words,

"Excuse me Sir, is that rum in your drink, or are you just happy to see me?"

Tim lived up to his prankster reputation too, pulling out a set of 'bubba' teeth while filming.

Alcohol-free version!

3 ounces of coconut cream

6 ounces of pineapple juice

1 huge scoop of vanilla ice cream (vanilla bean is best)

1 cup of crushed ice

Whipped cream

Blend everything in a blender and then add whipped cream to top it off!
