Elliot Fauman is a College lecturer at Bloviate College. He is a psychologist carrying out research on prostitutes, or as Elliot puts it "permanent orgasmic dysfunctioning of female employees in sexually-orientated work habits". He hopes to present his paper to the American Sexology Association and also gain his tenure, but in that last endeavour he has competition, Narvis Grubber. Narvis is carrying out research on teaching ballet to mice. Apparently it has military applications! (Don't ask me, I just read the script). |
Jean Kasem as Meredith Ashley/Dawn |
Having interviewed over 300 prostitutes, Elliot is still looking for his prototype, his statistical female archetype to prove his conclusions. One of the prostitutes he has interviewed is Stella, pimped by Dweezil La Mancha (where do they get these names from!). Stella is attracted to the Doc who in all reality is a bit of a nerd. Entering upon this budding relationship is Meredith Ashley, actress and prima donna. A tall blonde domineering woman who, lo and behold, falls for the Doc too. Meredith is rehearsing for a theatre part and is having trouble finding her subtext. The play is loosely based on 'Romeo and Juliet' but Meredith plays a hooker. After a row with her Accountant and Manager, Meredith storms off into the night still in costume and comes across the Doc and Stella who are on the street after Elliot's car has broken down. Meredith realises that the other two think she is a hooker and decides to allow the subterfuge to continue, but calls herself Dawn. The two women vie for Elliot's affections, Dawn trying to seduce him. The nerdy Doc appears to be uninterested, more concerned with his work, finding his archetype and securing his tenure. Dawn becomes even more determined. She decides to complete Elliot's questionnaire in such a way that he will believe she is the perfect woman he has been looking for. Elliot and Dawn sleep together but the Doc has second thoughts and rejects her as he feels they have nothing in common. Upset Meredith returns to her nice middle class home where she lives with her parents. Elliot follows her there and once again Meredith is able to trick him. This time she convinces him they are compatible. |
College Boy Tim (not from the film) |
This was Tim's first film. He plays one of three College students who take Elliot's sex psyche class. He is Doug. A relatively small part and totally unrelated to the plot, he plays a joker who drives around in a black Corvette which has the licence plate 'U WISH'. His character is described as a rubber-faced smart alec.
